Default Just installed Cusco LSD

Just put in my 2way cusco lsd and was wondering what's the best way to break it in is.
Was also wondering how often should I change the diff. oil.

Should I be concerned of the noise coming out of the diff? Dont really notice it at low speeds but more under harder driving conditions.

Thanks

This is what I did with my OS gikken 1.5 way LSD....

Drive in figure 8s for a while to break in the LSD...
Ths chattering sound are the clutch plates...This is a normal sound that should be evident in slow sharp turns but not in accelerated turns. The chattering can be overcome in U turns by popping the clutch and spinning the car around very quickly.

A diff oil change should be made in the first few hundred miles...

Hmmm, I was under the impression that the Cusco LSDs utilized "gear-type" internals, and didn't need to be broken in using the Figure-8 method...

OS Giken, along with KAAZ and some other brand LSDs use clutch packs/friction plates internally, and needed to be broken in with the aforementioned Figure-8 method...

Somebody correct me here if I'm wrong, as I'm curious about this myself...

yeah, drive in figure 8. That's the way to break it in.
I am not sure about the first diff oil change, but sure if I read the manual right, but I think the first oil change is at 10K.
the noise is normal. I get that too with my diff. Don't know u have RS or MZ, but MZ is supposed to have louder noise then the RS

I have installed two LSD's on two different cars. The advice given is correct stating that you should do figure 8's: Here is some more info:

1. Drive in figure 8's for 20 - 30 mins at around 15 MPH
2. Immediately after you can get back to a safe location drain your LSD oil on replace it. This is done to get all the metal shavings out of your oil that occur during break in.
3. Have fun

for reference I did this on an ATS DeftForce 1.5 way and a KAAZ 2-way

Well.. Put it like this.

Maybe nothing will happen, but would you want the shavings moving around in the diff possibly messing with the bearings or going in between the ring and pinion gears? Not me. But seriously, it is a good idea to drain the oil right after you first break it in and most companies recommend it. =0

Cheers,
