Default Just Installed Eibachs got a few Qs

HI,

i just had a local shop install my Eibach springs.

the stock front springs had rubber spacers between every coil of the spring. I was wondering if those are suppose to be put back onto the eibachs or not? since i did not put those back on. BTW, the front sits lower than the rear, is that normal? And one more question. just to make sure, the shorter springs go in the back and the longer springs go in the front, correct?

thanks

The rubber was for shipping and should have been removed by the dealer before delivery.

Go bitch-slap the dealer you got the car from. Those spring spacers are supposed to be removed when they do the P.D.I........could have helped you crash the car!!!

Congrats on the Eibachs. I've had mine for almost 3 years now and get complimented all the time. Give it a week or two then go get an alignment.

Can't remember about the spring sizes. PM "vtecvoodoo" and he can help clear that up (he works at Eibach).

I dont recall having rubber spring spacers on my 2001 s2000 when i replaced the springs with tein s-tech springs.

Here is something interesting, I bought the Tein S-Tech springs used from a guy here in the forum, these springs came with rubber spacers on the lower coils. Was i suppose to keep those? I dont remember if all 4 had these rubbers, but I can tell the rear is a bit higher than the front of the car.

Tomorrow I will check to see if I have the rubbers in all four springs. If I remember correctly the stock springs did not have rubber spacers anywhere.

no springs should have any rubber spacers between them. Not a good thing to want to keep on your car.

To determine what spring goes front and rear, look at the part #'s printed on them... The part # ending with the number 1 is for the front. The # ending with the # 2 is the rears respectivly.

Yes that is normal because when the springs are settling in, there is more weight on the front of the vehicle so therefore it will compress more than the rear.

I hope you meant spring isolators not spacers. little tube looking thing that goes around 3-4 rings of the springs correct?

Well, isolators then. I had two in the rear springs and one on the front. Are we suppose to remove these?

How about you hyeteck?

leave the isolators, they keep the spring quiet when you go over rougher roads and such..
