Default Just Installed Invidia Exhaust

Got my Invidia installed last week and was bouncing of the walls in anticipation.

On full throttle in VTEC that car sounds fantastic, but the drone between 3k and 5k is unbelievable ! Put in the silencers as well, though heavily reduced, that bassy drone persists. I am getting used to it, but it just isn't practical for every day driving - i don't want to get rid of it coz I do like the look and sound on full pelt!

I remember a thread on hear which spoke about some quick surgery that took away the droning. Did a search but to no avail.

Anyone remember this solution and know if it works?!

I am in need of help , please let me know!

I have been told that if you install the reinholts pipe on the exhausts that the droning will go away. On the stock pipe just after the cat there is a six inch pipe sticking out. That is the reinholts pipe. Good luck if you go that way and let us know.

I can't believe you didn't know this was coming.....every single post that mentions Invidia is full of droning complaints.

Droning is one thing - this is 'super' droning. I've driven (owned) modified cars before and the drone has never been this bad - so yeah I would like to fix it.

I am thinking of changing the centre section, by creating a custom pipe with OEM resonator and 'funny' pipe, don't think anyone has tried that. I'll do it if its cheap.

Thanks for the replies.

It gets quieter after the exhaust breaks in.

Also this is preference. I have the invidia, and drive it daily. I'm used to it, and it doesn't bother me at all. Also, at those rpms, there is only droning if you accelerate or decelerate. At cruising speed with just slight throttle, there is no droning at all.

But as I said, it doesn't bother me at all. Doesn't bother my girlfriend either.

Yeah, I have noticed that and am starting to get used to it - though I love to blast it every so often while cruising.

I think it is more a matter of getting used to it!

Getting used to it is the answer.

Mines a DD, and I still love it.
