I don't think that bracket is part of the car. I don't have one nor does an '02 that I've worked on. Are you sure it shouldn't be included with the K&N kit?

there is a bracket that attaches to the box. I'm not at home so I can't check specifically but I know it is clearly labeled in the instructions where everything goes so check over them.

That bracket is just to hold the box fixed. You should be able to drive the car without it. Just secure it as soon as you can.

Instructions

i believe the part you're looking for is "W" on the part list. Then look at step #23. This is where you install the "L" shaped bracket (small bracket). The box is bolted to this bracket to keep it secure.

Right! That's the second "L" shaped bracket in the kit. Looks like you've lost it or it didn't come with it. It doesn't look that complicated. Make one out aluminum flat rod and just drill holes in it.

that bracket was a few inches two short, the long bracket is for mounting in the back, the short bracket is for mounting the intake tube to the box and the middle lenght bracket was a few inches too short so i actually had to flatten the bracket and make it like 2 inches longer to fit. it only mounts to one bolt instead of two but it fits now. i also had to bend the vacum control units metal backing to fit correctly, because my aem unit had me take off a short bracket, and i couldnt find the bracket because it has been like 2 years. just out of courisity how much is one of those units, incase i just want to do it right so it will look better? thanks for the help guys.
