Default Key programming quotes from bog box stores and local places

I just got these quotes for the blank, programming, and cutting a key. Anyone have experience with these places? All of them said they can program my key. Later years may not be able to use places like Lowes or Walmart. Mine is a 2003. I am in Utah.

local places $50-55
Walmart $36
Lowes $40
HomeDepot $40
Ace $70?

I think the locksmiths do a relearn with an OBD tool, but the big box stores have a Hillman machine along with special keys that can be cloned to the key you bring in.

most honda dealerships can cut a "t5" key and copy the coding from your original key for free. total cost is usually under 20 bucks if they have it in stock, no need to pay for programming etc

Thanks. I am talking about the key, I know I can do the key fob easy.

"The average price for parts and programming for a replacement key is $90-140" - https://www.germainhonda-annarbor.com

I doubt dealership will do anything for $20, but I will ask.

I paid about $150 at Germain Honda in Columbus (OH) five years ago. That was for a full set of key and remote fob. I didn't do any price shopping and it was 5 years ago. Home Depot and Lowes have automated, unattended key kiosks so I'm uncertain just what automobile keys the machines can make.

Interesting that Germain Honda has stores in Columbus and "that town up north" (Ann Arbor).

Some HD have a machine to clone chipped keys. So do not. The ones around here do not.

If you buy one on eBay, how do you know if you are buying the type of key that can be cloned to an existing key, or the type of key that cannot be cloned, and the ECU needs to learn?

The locksmith wanted 25 for this key type
I got this key and a fob for 26 bucks and he cut it for 8 with this type

It's sold as a S2000 key I'm just telling you what I did and it work out perfect for me. You might get a locksmith who wants to sell his own type of key.
I bought my other key and fob and he cloned and cut it for 8 bucks in like 1 minute i was blown away how fast it was.
