hey guys,

I had spugen install my KGMM race springs * gold * ones in my car about 3 weeks ago. I think the install went great, however; the rear of my car is lower than the front. The rear is tucking while the front has 2 finger gaps. They are sitting on 18in TE37s 225-40-18s front and 245-40-18s rear. I thought they didnt preload the springs so I had my friend [KLN] pre load them tonite for me. Its still the same after the preload. I was wondering if this was normal on the s2ks. The springs are on stock oem shocks. Thanks

Pics of your setup of kgmm race springs are appreciated as well!

dude, here are some old pics of my car.

lots of peeps on this site have complained about this, but i never noticed it. with stock wheels the drop was even all around. measured from ground to fender was about 25 inches.

Just installed a set of gold KG/MM Race springs yesterday. The springs were put on the stock struts, and my car has OEM wheels and tires. I have an tight two finger gap on all four corners. I didn't preload the springs any extra than what they were when directly replacing the stock springs.

EDIT: if you mean by pre-loading where you jack the whole corner of the car up by the suspension before you tighten the bolts, I did do that. It's amazing how much everything shifted around and settled in when I jacked it up.

Which springs did you put on the front? There's a shorter set and taller set. The shorter set has the lower spring rate (it has about 10 turns in the coil) and should have gone on the front. The taller set has the slightly higher spring rate (it has about 9 turns in the coil) and belongs on the back.

Chris.

i have the same springs as you and also installed mine at spugen. i also have the exact same outcome as you. some people say that something is wrong, some say its normal. i was really really dissatisfied with the outcome and will never ever recommend kg/mm springs to anybody unless they want the look of an s2000 with airbags for suspension.

wow, that looks like a good drop. unfortunately mine does not look even close to that. im thinking either spugen messed up installing the springs or kg/mm foked up on a batch of their springs. maybe since kg/mm was in such a high demand, the new batch was all foked up. either way, alot of the new kg/mm users have my same problem while people who bought kg/mm a long time ago don't.

I can't explain why some have this "issue" and others do not. But, I can say that... for those that do lower in the rear just a tad more, is a good thing and not to complain about it.

You want your rear to sit a little lower, better for traction to say the least.
