Anyone know what kind of output the knock sensor creates?

Does it just Close for each knock? or is it variable? or what?

Any help appreciated.

It's a piezo-electric device (microphone). It produces a voltage output. Here's the data sheet for a Delphi knock sensor -- I'm sure the one in the S2000 is similar: Knock Sensor
