Is it possible that somehow an AP2 (MY06+) sensor and plug got on my car? What do those look like? Anyone have pics?
They look the same.

Some of the +06 have a grey colored plug. But they have still a square shape.

Either way its right under the manifold between cylinders 2 and 3. It is the only sensor in that location.

Scroll down on this thread for pics.

If you have small enough hands (like me) you can pull the alternator and get to it fairly easy. But yes as said above it is on the drivers side of the engine bay under the intake manifold

So I don't have the tools to actually pull the knock sensor at my house, so that is going to have to wait until tomorrow when I can go to his shop.

However, I was able to snap some pictures of the only plug in that area that wasn't connected to anything...

Here it is:

That certainly isn't a square though... I'm so lost. Is that the knock sensor plug or something else?

That looks like it would go to a B-series knock sensor to me...

Looks like the plug for the EVAP control valve. Or the vacuum control valve.

How sure are you of that? That was the only sensor that wasn't plugged in that I could see. Maybe I have the wrong one though?

Should be able to make it to his shop today and check stuff out tonight...

For anyone in the future who might find this, or anyone else who cares...

Not sure if I got screwed over by someone who worked on the car, or if the previous owner did this or what, but the knock sensor plug on my car shown above is actually that of an H or B series Honda motor. I compared mine to one of those and it looks just the same. I took the plug off my knock sensor and it plugged into the plug from the H/B series no problem.

But yeah... I'm just gonna put the correct plug back on and get an S2000 specific sensor.
