Default KW Variant 3

Well it seems each time I mode this car I get a new noise

I put in a CAI and I got an Intake Whistle

I put in a Short Shifter and I got a Buzz

I put these coilovers in and now I have a Click

The click is only in the left rear and it seems to have gotten worse as I have raised the ride height of the car. If I had to guess it would have something to do with the lower helper spring or shock cap.

Has anyone else who has KW's experienced this?

The helper spring is fully compressed now that the car is raised to the max per KW installation instructions. When I spoke with KW they said this is normal.

Well maybe you could have learned something from that before you did it over and over and over again.

It is normal for the helper spring to be fully compressed.

BTW, I get lots of noises from my KWs, but since I also pulled the rear interior out of the car I'm not able to tell which noises would or would not have been audible otherwise.

I spoke with KW and all they could offer is that I should disassemble, inspect, and reinstall. No one has ever reported such a clicking noise they tell me.

That something I would do too and double check if all the bolt is tight

Did you pre- load the suspension to KW's specs.

Thanks for the question.........

While installing these, I compressed the suspension by jacking the car up from the lower arm until it just came of the jack stand and then lowered it slightly and torqued the bolts to spec.

Is this what you mean when you speak of pre-loading or is it the placement of the lower spring perch adjustment nut?

I am a bit new to this suspension stuff.

I have been adjusting the ride height from a mid point stting to the highest recommended by KW and the clicking has occured more often.

One should not mess with the S if one does not own the Helms manual.

Hello,

In the KW V3 is normal to make noises, not only in the S2000 but in all car's. Is the valves of shocks working that make the noises, but there isn't any problems.
