Default Leaking oil through headgasket

Before you flame me on this I had just recently changed my headgasket and i used arp headstuds. I have heard on hear that you are suposed to exceed the 22 foot pounds with the instal of these. I only torked to the honda requirements "22lb". Could this have caused my oil trickle problem. I am leaking oil right below the tension all. I also used gasket sealer in the designated place around the timing chain im just lost. Im tempted to remove the v cover and cams and rockers and just retork.. Help!!!!

As per another thread, ARP head studs should be torqued to 80ft/lb with ARP moly lube and 120ft/lb if using motor oil. Its def a start if it's not the problem it should be done anyways. The bolts weren't designed for stock torque spec so use the ARP mnfc. instructions.

Right on i figured that was what it was. I was just a little nervouse to tork that high because it was so much higher than the original spec.

This is going off memory, so it may be a little off, but the 22ft-lb is the initial torque. You are then suppose to torque the head bolts 3 more times, each time turning the bolt 90 degrees following the torquing sequence in the manual, so you were way off even using 22ft-lb's for the ARP studs. Next time, read the instructions first.

the oem spec has to be hundreds of lbs. The last turns are HARD.

I should add, that if you've been driving the car at 22 lbs of torque you best pull the head and put a new headgasket on since you likely ruined that one. you're lucky you didn't suck in a bunch of water and really cause problems.

You should have read the actual oem instructions, your head is barely bolted on. I don't think I'd risk it if the car was run more than a few minutes in the current config. Replace that hg imo.

OEM bolts are torque angle, 22ft lbs to start. Then 2 steps of 90 degrees after on a used bolt. 3 step of 90 degrees on new bolts.

Like it's bee stated, the headbolts on your car are barely tight.
