Default Leaking trans bolt

The bolt seems to be leaking. Maybe someone thought it was a drain plug. Can I loosen and re-tighten it without any ill effects? Doesn’t seem to be holding anything according to the pic.

It’s not holding anything, it is an access plug, to gain access to a snap ring.

You can remove, clean it, use some grey silicone to seal the threads.

Finally got around to fix it. The Alen cap was finger loose! Applied some Honda bond to the threads and tightened it down to that factory blue marker.
Also for future reference the size of the socket is T14.
THANKS!

That is odd, did someone work on this vehicle in the past and loosen the bolt in error ?

To be honest... it looks like the leak was not coming from the allen cap, but from the slave cylinder/rubber boot right next to it. Leaking fluid usually doesn't travel upwards with gravity.

No, the leak was from the Alen bolt. Because the top of the bolt was dry and it was wet underneath. The fluid looked and felt similar to transmission fluid. I’m guessing someone thought it was a drain bolt and loosened it and probably didn’t tightened it back up.
