The lesser of two evils!

I just bought my yeller fun machine, and really the only thing that is driving me totally nuts is the spoiler. To me, the one I have looks like an afterthought.

That is the one (if the image doesnt' show, it is the one that comes up off the lid of the trunk, not the "lip" style)
I am wondering if the lip style spoiler will cover the holes from the other spoiler? From what I can tell from other posts the lip spoiler only uses two holes on the decklid but would the "body" of the spoiler cover the other holes?
actually the ideal solution would be NO spoiler, but I thought it might be expensive to have the holes professionally plugged and painted.
I am just aching to get rid of this spoiler, anyone got any ideas, or tried anything similar?

The rear "wing" uses 4 holes - 2 under each strut. The rear lip uses 6 holes - the same 4 that the wing uses and 2 more that have to be drilled along the trunk lid.
This thread will show you what's involved:

xviper - are you sure the lip uses 6 holes? I only see you drilling 4. The pdf instructions from Handa also only show drilling 4. It looks like two of the holes drilled during install of the wing aren't drilled for the lip.
I have the wing and was thinking of switching myself.

I tried to eyeball the holes on my car and the lip spoiler. It looks like the lip spoiler might actually cover the exposed holes from the wing install.
Anybody ever actually remove a wing and put the lip on the car? I'd be okay filling the holes and rust-proofing them if the lip covered them. I wouldn't do it if I had to paint and blend because they were exposed.
xviper - are you saying that if you go from wing to lip, the holes not used by the lip will be covered by part of the lip?

If you've got the lip, see if the front part of the edges of the sides of the lip sits over that rubber bumper. I kinda doubt it.
Swaping trunk lids with someone has has what you want and you having what he wants would be the best bet.

Wow, you guys are great. Thanks for the info, I just got done enjoying the s for the 3rd weekend and i am a little sunburned and smiling ear to ear
.
I may try to find someone in my area that wants the wing and doesn't have it. and is yellow pearl.
Although I am not afraid of filling holes if I have to, one of my grooms man is a ppg distributor and I will beat him if he doesn't get me squared away.
