Default Looking for Clutch Slave install help

First off, please don't let my post count fool you on my mechanical capabilities. I do however hate the brake and clutch system and have never had luck with em on any car. But I'm stubborn and refuse to let a shop work on any of my cars.

Now, I was in the process of replacing my clutch fluid and bleeding it because it was super disgusting. Probably never been changed. Any who, I had been using the gravity bleed method but had a lot of pedal slack afterwards. So today I found the post about removing the clutch slave, pointing the bleeder up, and allowing the air to clear out. I tightened up the bleeder and went to go install the slave but the plunger had erected and wouldn't allow the bolts to line up. I loosened up the bleeder, pushed in the plunger, tightened up the bleeder, and installed the slave. Upon testing the clutch something happened and the slave started leaking. I removed it and found the plunger disconnected and would not go back in....

I just ordered a new clutch slave that will be in tomorrow. I'm looking for any and all info about reinstalling this thing. I would like to presume the clutch master cylinder is basically empty and I need to fill the whole system. Any and all help is appreciated. Thank you

All wrong

a) you dont need to take off the slave to bleed it. (just put a little clear rubber hose over the nipple and run it to some jar ..the idea is to see when the bubbles stop coming out in the clear hose so you know when to close of the bleeder screw)

b) when you took it off..you don't actually need to loosen the bleeder screw to push the plunger back in, you can do it with the system being "closed" and that is where i think is your issue...but god knows what actually went wrong.

c) yes your master reservoir is probably empty unless you blocked off the hose hanging under the car...but that not an issue, just install new slave/ attach the hose open the bleeder, top up the fluid and let it gravity bleed just like before..
if it doesn't get going on its own you can try to climb under the car and remove the hose from the slave and once brake fluid starts dripping from it attach it back onto the slave and proceed with normal bleeding method...

You have to line up the nipple against the slave cylinder. It's kind hard coz the rubber boot is in the way. Sane thing happened to me. The slave popped and the pedal went to the floor and all the fluid came out. Took me an hour...
