Default Looking for new Jack Stands

I'm in the market for a set of double-locking jack stands for doing PM work and fluid changes on the S. What safety factor should I be looking for, or what weight rating? I'm planning on using four stands to lift the car high enough to work comfortable underneath.

Any recommendations or suggestions?

Any jack stand will do really since the lowest rating I've personally seen was 2tons (for a single jack stand). I would guess the one "feature" that I would ensure that my jackstands have for my Hondas in particular is that the jackstand be the style that has a notch to catch the frame's jack points. (img below). Just make sure you shake test it before crawling under it. I take other precautions that aren't inconvenient to me. The jacks that I personally own are Harbor Freight and Craftsman. The thing you basically want to avoid is for your body to be the 'tallest' thing that the car could fall onto. A wheel for example will give you about 8" of height if the car falls, so as long as your body's max-compressed height is less than 8", you have better odds of not getting seriously injured.

Options (in addition to my stands):
If I am taking the wheels off, I leave the wheels under the car (so should the car fall for some unexplainable reason, it'll fall on the wheels).
After jacking the car to the appropriate height and lowering the car onto jack stands, I leave the jack under the jack point with no weight on it, but the jack is still ready to catch a fall.
I have scissor jacks laying around from the cars I've dismantled and use them for added insurance in the local area that I'm working on underneath the car.

That jack stand seems to be in perilous danger of damaging the body of the car IMHO. I hate that style of jack stand for that reason, the V is often too deep.

I just refreshed my jacks and jack stands (mine were many, many years old, abused, rusted, etc). I went with these jack stands: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002BHV0MC

I bought these.

Torin T43004 3 Ton Aluminum Jack Stands (Sold in Pairs) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0007XTGCI..._m4RXvbYJYNF6P

They don't damage my epoxy floor and with the pin there is no way they would lower once the cars weight is on it. I still toss some extra jack stand under the car for safety especially if I am going under the car.

I actually have 1.5 tons stands from many years ago that worked for my VW bug. I don't dare use them on the S. Thanks for the suggestions.

What do you think of these:

I don't know, 6 ton is a little light. Can't you find any 10 ton jacks?

J/K Those look very good and if you buy a motorhome you can use them on it too.

I bet the footprint of those six ton stands is bigger than you're thinking they are.

We have an 2000 Odyssey and a 2011 Subaru Outback, too, so the larger ones might come in handy.

My dear gf bought me two sets of the 6-ton double locking jack stands tonight, plus the new lift that she just bought for me. Now that's true love. I'll report back how the new gear works in a week or two.

And all kidding aside, the gf drools every time we pass an RV sales lot.
