Loud click sounds from rear
Hi everyone,
I've searched the forums and read every thread on this topic. Everyone says the loud clicking sounds from the rear is because of the axle nut being too loose. I followed the Retorque Axle Nut DIY (I think I got to 80 degrees just to be safe) and now I still get a loud click sound only when reversing and starting off in first gear for the first drive of the day.
This thread (https://www.s2ki.com/forums/s2000-un...-824011/page2/) actually describes my problem to a tee. The only thing is I don't have any other symptoms that seem to point to a worn out wheel bearing (vibrations felt from rear and through steering wheel, loud whirring noises on the freeway, etc.)
Will regreasing the axle splines be okay and if so, can anyone guide me through it? I read a post from one of the more knowledgable members on this forum and they said that regreasing the splines is not the correct way to tackle this issue, something about not being able to know if the wheel bearing is going bad. If so, how can I solve this clicking noise?
Thanks so much in advance

Describe sound further
you described it as a click, would you also say, or think it has a plastic base sound.
Somewhat same boat for me as far as reverse and first starting off sometimes cold sometimes warmed up but not constant.
It's like a plastic crunching/click to me. Also never thought about wheel bearing though because either it is not that bad to be whittling yet or just doesn't sound like that to me so.
If you can update any progress you make, ty
