Default Magnaflow catalyst?

Are the Magnaflow catalyst any good? Engine performance, lasting, check engine light?

It will affect one of the above negatively. Which is why its less expensive than the factory converter.

Yep.

Has yours failed?

If you're looking for a converter that flows well, then Berk or EVS or other options exist already. I don't know the rules behind your TUV or MOT inspections.

Just wondering why you're looking for a catalyst

Berk and Rockstar Garage uses a Magnaflow cat.
The part number is engraved right on it.

The Berk High Flow cats are $100 less expensive. Under $300.

Just looking around, preparing for "Day X". OEM Catalyst will fail at some point, used OEM ones are non existent anymore here in Germany, Companys wich simply open the OEM Catalyst and install a new core are hard to find here, the best one is gone out of buissines one or two years ago. The few "Street legal" (Papers and / or Registration Number on it) aftermarket catalysts here wich you could buy for the S2000 are meanhwille "Sold out" and most likely will never be re-produced anymore. They also had a "Not so good" reputation according to the few reports i found in German Forums.
And yes, TUV saftey inspection every two years make a sniffer test and the Catalyst should be OEM or "Street Legal" with some Registration Number stamped on it. Or you cover it behind the OEM heatshield and keep you fingers crossed during the inspection.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong...the Berk/EVS/RSG are all "for offroad use only".

Whereas the Magnaflow in the OP is EPA (49 state) legal.

The Berk/EVS/RSG all flow better than stock, but are likely to set a CEL.

Which tells me that the one in the OP likely sacrifices flow for emissions compliance. I do really like that it comes with the "ring" gasket for the rear flange. All the others come with a stupid flat gasket that doesn't work as well with the stock exhaust.

I use a Berk HFC or a test pipe on my S2000's. I keep my factory catalyst on the shelf for when I need it.
