Default maint req light flashing

My car has 5500 miles on it and yesterday, the maint. required light started flashing when I first crank up the car. It doesnt stay on, but flashes for 7 seconds and then stops. I changed the engine oil at 3750, and swapped out the tranny and diff fluids when I replaced the slave cylinder with the '03 part this weekend. Could any of those things be causing the light to flash? Or is there a sensor in the car that is telling me to have the oil changed because it thinks I have not done it yet?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Unless you reset the light, your car thinks you're getting due for an oil change. You seem to be on top of everything so reset the light and go on enjoying your car

Nope, it is a "Moron Light" that blindly turns on after X miles. Then you turn it off (read your owners manual to find out how). It will light again after the same X miles from the mileage you had when it turned off.

Turn it off,it's in the manual.
Key off, push reset button on trip odometer, turn key on ,and hold button for 20 seconds. It's gone.

Hey guys, I have an idea. If it is so irritating for some of us that are new to the forum to ask the same questions over and over, why not stop answering them?

The first 4 posts answered my question perfectly.

Go start a new club for you 10 guys that already know everything and you guys can sit around and play s2000Jeopardy all day long.

"Alex, I'll take torquewrench settings for the '02 sunvisors for $200, please"
Jesus, lighten up already. I'll ask the next few questions in the coming weeks for our enjoyment:

Where is the secret compartment?
What kind of oil should I use?
Is the AP1 or AP2 faster?
Does the grounding kit work?

among other gems...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
