Does Honda use any kind of di-electric (sp?) grease in the MAP sensor connection?

Just wondering.

If you take the harness apart, you'll see that it's dry inside, so no apparent grease used.

they need to do the TSB even if the car is running fine at the moment. go back and demand them to carry out the TSB.

1. Are you really young? If so, dealers may not listen to you. If this is the case, take your dad with you and have him do the talking.
2. Try another dealer?
3. Maybe there really isn't anything wrong with your car? Have you allowed another local S2000 owner assess it? (I mean someone who REALLY knows about this car.)

TSB = Technical Service Bulliten

Used to be they were pretty much for the dealers eye only but with this wonderful invention call the Internet, we get to know about them too. Basically, they're just a form that offers the dealer advise on how to correct a problem that seems to be popping up often enough to trigger a response from the manufacturer. Now-a-days, it's not uncommon for us to know about them before the dealer does.

tell them that you're aware of a new TSB for the map sensor and you would like them to complete it. tell them the problem is intermittant and does not show itself all the time. they can't just drive the car once and say its ok, because it might happen during the next drive. if you want, try to find a copy of the TSB online, print it out and take it in with you. some service advisors still have no clue about this TSB since its only a couple weeks old.

Unfortunately, this is probably true. However, they the service person(s) have anything between their ears, they should be able to look it up themselves easily enough.

Good luck & Drive Safe,

I had the TSB done, or actually had the new parts installed the day before it was published, and my car has been running fine since then. Of course it's still been in the shop for a week, but that's another problem with Honda...
