Default MIL light on

My MIL light is on. The car is in my garage presently undergoing some repairs/service etc. I've had the engine on periodically and noticed the MIL light is on. Now I know you will say it could be a huge number of things and I've not connected an OBD tool yet to check the code.

But my wondering is, does it come on when the battery has been disconnected? which is has been. On a Civic EU I had the MIL light come on after I had the battery disconnect and that went away after so many starts. Is this the same for an S2000?

cheers

No the MIL doesn't come on after you disconnect the battery. What repair or service is in progress? Maybe whatever it is you are working on, you might of knock over a wire or sensor or something to throw the MIL on.

Removal of bumper wheel arch liner etc, fans, radiator and swap, battery and brackets around there, window washer reservoir/pumps, air filter box, spark plugs, bonnet catch. Doing a clean up and rust removal.

MIL : Maintenance Indicator Light. It's the little wrench looking light. You have to reset manually if it's on.

CEL: Check Engine Light. looks like a little engine. usually means something is unplugged/disconnected. It should be on when the key is in the On position but it will turn off when the engine is started if everything is OK.

Possibly a country naming difference. Here its MIL - Malfunction Indicator Lamp(Light) and this is the little engine symbol.

I don't believe we have the spanner/wrench symbol light.

Yes I know but most things are not engine management connected just a few mechanicals.

I do have a scanner but its not playing ball, even on my other car. I have to try it on a car I knew it worked easily with, being a Honda Civic, to see it its packed up working or its not bluetoothing to my phone properly. Or the numpty using it doesn't know what he's doing!!
