Mileage Correction
Hello,
I recently had a cluster malfunction and had to order another. Only problem is the mileage isnt correct/ According to my local Honda, changing the new miles to actual miles is illegal. Does anyone have a solution? Id rather not be off by 10k mi.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

The mileage is not connected to the cluster in any way. Period. Sounds like someone swapped your ECU ......

P.S. Don't believe me? Check Qube Engineering(google it) FAQ on how mileage is stored in the S2000.

Miles is stored in the cluster, no other component.
Tell you Honda dealer to search ISIS for odometer replacement. There are several companies that are listed a dear can send the old and new cluster to and have the miles set. New clusters come at 0 miles.

Mileage *is* stored in the cluster. According to Honda here its illegal for them to transfer. When the cluster went out the speedo and everything else still works except for the gas gauge. Weird

Couldnt agree more. I asked her what do you do when someone buys a new cluster. Judy said ill have to transfer you to parts. At parts I told them all I need is milage to be corrected for actual milage. Other woman didnt listen and said the 'brain' of the cluster is $400. I told her I have a cluster. I ended up being transfered 6 separate times. After the second I started my camcorder rolling just so people can see how slow these people are. This is the only dealer for an hour away and I did bring it there for an exhaust check up (was making a louder than normal noise at certain speeds). They told me its supposed to sound like grinding metal. Minekey fixed it the next day - stripped, loose bolts. I could understand if it was an exotic car, but when the people at the Honda dealership dont know what part I need or tell me its illegal to display the actual milage it really makes me wonder.
