Default (MISFIRE 1) compression test results are in

so im going to tell you about my car

got the car in 2005 used with 11000 miles

first year i usually do 3 vtec in a month (haha whatever )
after that first year then just do once a month or once every 2 months.. haha

so anyways about 2 years ago i misrev and instead of going 4 gear i ended up putting it on 2nd at that point i was at 3rd and about 7.5k rpm then accidently put the gear in 2nd gear so the RPM went all crazy... at that point i thought i was fawked but it didnt seem like i needed anything done since it was still running strong after that and this is about 40k miles on the car...

after 2 days i got the car valve adjusted and everything work out well...

and now 100k miles after

this is what my compression test results... NOW I NEED YOUR OPINION ON WHAT TO DO....

heres the problem
2 weeks ago i got a cel and i had honda check on whats going on and he the scanner said p0301 MISFIRE 1 and he said it just need a valve adjustment so we reset the code and after a week it on again... check the code and its the same thing...

now it only turns on when cold or hot but it only turns on when idle... the cel never turned on when driving.... even at 60 miles drive...

RESULTS

175 CYLINDER 1
250 CYLINDER 2
260 CYLINDER 3
250 CYLINDER 4

THANKS..

Do a leakdown test and you can probably figure out what the problem is with that cylinder.

I got the same trouble couples years ago (P301). After changing sparks plugs, map sensor, clean IAC valve, valve adjustement, switch coilpack to see if to cel move on anotehr cylinder...still the missfire on cylinder 1. After changing all fuel injectors, the cel never come again. And this is is 5 years ago when I was on warranty.

I'm not saying your engine is perfectly fine, but I think it would run okay with those numbers, it isn't that bad that I would expect it to cause you an issue.

A misfire code could very easily be a bad injector or a bad coilpack, or bad spark plug, or all three. I think compression or valve issues would be a distant fourth culprit, but that is just my opinion. I would do a process of elmination before getting all worked up about a valvetrain/engine job. It could be a very simple fix. I always suggest people start out eliminating the simple things and moving towards the harder jobs last.

I ageee with u

Although I have already replaced the sparkplug and swap coils from 1-4 and it still giving me a misfire on C1 and C2 even though I already swap the coils 1 and 2 to 3 and 4

at this point I am not quite sure bu it sounds like I may have a crack retainers or a bent valve on my cylinder 1 since it read very low compare to he rest.... Hope this is not the case

I will be doing a valve adjustment to see that helps

Somewhere there's a thread that shows you what to look for to see if you have a cracked retainer. It should be visually apparent in the relationship between the top of the valve and the top of the retainer. With a cracked retainer, the top of the valve will be less "proud" of the top of the retainer.
