misfire cel turned off by itself?

Thumbs up misfire cel turned off by itself?

had the light on for a few days now it was a misfire in cylinder 2 got in the car today and it was gone anyone have any experiences like this does that mean the problem fixed itself or will it come back on again later?

My guess is that you might need a valve adjustment. This seems to be a common problem with s2000's. If the valves are too tight. The engine will shake causing a misfir code but its so mild that the light will reset itself. In time it will just come back again.

how can i determine if the valves are messed up?

might also want to check your injectors, if one is clogged that would cause a misfire as well

this has happened to me a few times. it only went off for about 3-4 hundred miles and back on.

Mine has been doing this for a few weeks. On, misfires. Off. On, misfires. Off. One, misfires. Off.

I'm getting 'used' injectors that have been cleaned/flowbenched and also getting a valve adjustment next week.

If the misfire is consistent to a cylinder then I would swap the ignition coil to a different cylinder and see the the misfire changes to a different cylinder. For example, if you get a #2 cyl. misfire then swap the #2 and #4 ignition coils. If you start getting a #4 cyl. misfire then you know the problem is in the ignition coil. If the misfire stays in #2 cylinder then you know the ignition coil is not the problem.
