Default misfire problem

Im having a misfire problem..

After replacing the Spark plugs, Coils, Injectors, ECU and Fuel Filter/Sock.
Im still getting a misfire.

After a Leak down and compression test they think that I have 2 bent valves(3 and 4).

Is it possible to have bent valves and have the car still able to run?

Is it possible for me to have had misfires on plugs 1, 2 if the bent valves are on 3 and 4?

What can cause bent valves?

Yes, it evidently is possible to have bent valves and the car still run well enough to get by. You're the 3rd person in the last year or so that I can recall posting up that your misfire was due to bent valves...even with the car running pretty good otherwise.

But it surprises me that the misfire is happening in 1&2 with the bent valves in 3&4. Seems odd...but maybe Slow or Billman can chime in to explain how that happens.

#3 is screwed. It's either bent valves, or completely destroyed ring seal.

180 is otherwise a bit low for most S2k's. 200 is more typical. The bigger issue is #3

You have to know what the problem is to get the compression issue fixed.

If it is just bent valves, more than likely you can just get the head rebuilt. Total cost might be $1-2k.

If it is rings, you need the bottom end rebuilt.

If the motor needs a bottom end re-build it may be cheaper to find a used motor pulled from a wrecked car. I've seen them go for $2-3k. Then you have installation cost.

Or you can pay to have the motor you have rebuilt.

It is very possible to have valves bent and still have the car run pretty well. When I bought my car, the car ran fine. I took it for a couple test drives and I was ready to buy it. Then the engine light (due to misfire according to honda) came on during a test drive and I heard PUFFing from the exhaust. The car was brought to the dealer and they found 4 valves to be bent. After a head rebuild, the car ran great and I bought it!

negcamber and to who can help....

I talked to the mechanic and he doesn't think it's rings.. He said he would have heard something during the test... So I think I'm good..

However he did said that 180 psi was good is that true? I was a quart low when he did the test..

what can cause bent valves? mechanical overrev will do that...sorry man. probably time for a valvejob and new valvetrain components. MAKE SURE you take it to a competent shop, this stuff if critical in a head like this.

and yes, it can sometimes take a while for symptoms to rear their ugly heads. i've been through all this before, let me know if you need help with anything.
