Default misfires

Hey guys and gals,
Just wanted to share a problem i've been having with my S. When i'm under heavy acceleration my car starts to miss really bad. It starts at about 5,000 rpms and continues through vtec. I've changed the map sensor and reset the computer and it didn't work. Normal driving is fine, the car starts and runs fine. Checked my plugs and they look fine, (changed them about 9,000 miles ago) i torqued them down properly aswell. Could it be a coil pack? Any input would be great. O and there is no cel. i'm at 59k

thanks in advance for any help.

Bobby

Not sure fella. I had the same problem and changed the flux capacitor! hehe anyway, I had to change the plugs and two coils but that was it. Let us know how it works out.

not sure about the injector but it may be possible. I spoke with my service guy and he thinks it sounds like the map sensor. You already replaced that so I am not sure. Nice volks by the way and the lugs look good also...

per my service guy; try induction service because 2000's have problems with carbon buildup at the injectors. yes this is peter from ISP. just been busy at work. i recommend doing a throttle body cleaning when you do that also.

Well there's a couple different kind of misfires there ignition which you've semi eliminated you could check the coil pack see if there's excessive resistance, could be lean misfire and my moneys on that, could be plugged fuel filter or a restriction in the fuel system somewhere. If there's carbon build up there's this process you do where you run this fluid through your manifold vaccum line and it will clean carbon deposits they sell it at autozone, and than run some injector cleaner, change fuel filter if you haven't done it in the 59k you've had your car. Hope some of that helps ill get back to you with the name of the fluid.
