Talking Misfiring

Just found out my car misfiring. It has 145k miles. I know is a lot. I got it a month ago for a hell of a good price. I know is 2nd and 3rd thats misfiring. My buddy told me it is a usual thing with s2k's with that many miles. He said the valves are not sitting straight. So from that said. Should I get this fixed or should I rebuild the motor. I am planning on rebuilding the motor eventually. So should I just rebuild it now. As of right now it would be the head that needs to be fixed... So what you guys think.

change the spark plugs, if that doesnt fix the problem get your valves adjusted... if still having problems moving on to coils, injectors etc.... if the engine is in good condtion, I dont see the point of rebuilding it. GL
