Missfire @ Idle
Hey everyone maybe sombody on the board can help me out on this, let me give you some background on my S first.
She is an o1 @ 65k no major problems at all, just the tranny tsb's and high oil consumption...1 quart every 1000 miles.
She seems to misfire at idle with a put put put noise, and sometimes she bogs down hard to like 100-200 rpms after tapping the gas or pulling up in neutral? The cel came on for one day then shut off. When driving/accelerating she seems to run fine!
has anyone else experienced these symptoms?

Your symptoms can be caused by a number of problems. I had the same symptoms on my daily driver, and a new set of plug wires took care of it. But the S2000 isn't wired the same. it could be a faulty coil pack. But before you start replacing one, here are a few things you need to do:
Check to see what code the CEL was giving you. This will tell you which cylinder is a problem. Switch coil packs with another cylinder and see if the other cylinder gets the CEL.
Do a compression and leakdown test on the engine. Given that you're consuming some oil, you might have a scored cylinder. Poor compression could give you those sympoms. A leakdown will tell you if it might be in your valves.
Check your plugs. See if any of them look fouled. Swap plugs with a good cylinder. If the problem moves to that cylinder, you know it was a bad plug.
I doubt that it is your fuel injectors but if you try everything above and still have the problem, you might try some fuel injector cleaner.

Im just wandering because i am not sure what this missfire sounds like. If its like this Audi that would be bad cause it would mean 2 things. Your car is messed up or your turbo is spooling at idle...hmmm try to figure out which of the those is the one....lol
that audi is sweet exept for the missshift.
