can anyone tell me what goes in this connector ?

Looks like a spare or nonexistent connector since it's blue taped up.

Hardtop defrost circuitry is my guess although I'm surprised on a MY2000.

i'm think it's was some sort of accessory connector for 00 or defrost for hardtop.

It would be hard to access that plug even w/ the back panel off.

Possibly a connector for the rear fogs on the european models.

Not sure what other accessories they have in the rear that would need power.

The defroster connector is usually right up behind the panel behind the seat. That looks a bit to close to the trunk.
