Model year airbag differences
I just bought an S2000 and the previous owner through in a spare airbag with the deal that doesn't fit the car. I am trying to determine what model year it fits. The airbag part numbers are as follows:
By looking at the service manual wiring diagrams, its obviously an 05 or earlier, seeing as it has only 1 pair of wires. I just can't figure out what the difference is in the 03 and earlier airbags. Is there any way to differentiate the two different part numbers just by looking at the airbag?
- 00-03 - 06770-S2A-A81ZA
- 04-05 - 06770-S2A-A82ZA
- 06-09 - 77810-S2A-A90ZA

From what you said, I believe that its an 04-05 airbag. Can you confirm which is which in my photo? The one on the left only has 1 pair of wires, so its a single stage, the one on the right is a dual stage airbag.

i believe 00-03 and 04-05 are interchangeable single stage air bags...the difference is the cosmetic design on the air bag cover. 04-05 has a nice metalic H while 00-03 has a painted-on black/silver H.
06-09 are the dual stage air bags...
