What are some of the better bang for the buck engine mods for this car.

and what about suspension? Probably looking for coilovers. Nothing too wild and don't need them to be too adjustable. Something streetable but less body roll.

Parts are for the g/f's car. She races my car w/ me at auto-x and wants to get her car to handle and perform a bit better. It's bone stock.

Suspension mods:

Ground Control with Bilsteins... probably around $950 if you look. That will keep the car in street prepared as well.

Engine Mods:
Cold Air Intake (AEM has been good... except for the noise )
DC Sports 4-1 if you are looking for more on top
DC 4-2-1 if you are looking for mid

In Sport Compact Car, they have a revolving story about a 2000 Civic Si blue in which they chronical the mods of the car... but more importantly they chronical the weight removal process.

That process is FREE. They had stuff from mild to wild in those articles. Removing tar (pound here pound there), removing AC, removing crash bars (don't know if the 95 would have that). Maybe those articles can give a clue as to which things to do are best. I will see if I can dig up the articles....

Andrew

PS
SilverSurfer... Do the H&R coilovers keep the stock spring perch? I heard that the big deal with Ground Control is that you keep the stock perch so you can stay in street prepared (instead of going right in to prepared and getting your ass whoooooooped).

I'm pretty sure the Ground Controls used a threaded sleeve that replaces the factory spring perch, or perch on a replacement shock. The H&R coilovers are an entire replacement threaded body shock. Both of which are legal in SP.

At any rate the car would fit better into Street Touring (unless you do the motor swap) The class allows popular bolt ons and mandates street tires.

I used to run STS with a VR6 GTi (Hence name) so if you need help with the class drop me a line.
