hey guys, bought a used modifry shift beeper, guy who sent it pretty much wrote me a novel on how to install it, and i think i'm pretty mechanically inclined and able to do it. i installed it per instructions step by step, started my car and no beep, so i checked my connections and all 3 seemed to be pretty snug. tried her again and nothing, at that point i quit and decided it was better off i didnt curse in the driveway anymore. i also started to wonder that since my vafc is monitoring the rpms that means the shift beeper cant?? any help would be greatly appreciated. i'll check back tonite. thanx guys

Did you look at Modifry's website for instructions?

So all you have done is started the car? have you set the beeper to the RPM level you wanted and drove the car engaging that limit?

Mine doesn't beep when I start the car. You don't even know its there till 8600

The beeper does have a test mode. In that mode it beeps just for having an RPM signal, and it beeps faster the higher the RPM signal gets. Have you tried the test mode?

no i did not set it and drive it. the directions said to put dip switch 1 and 2 in the on position to test the tach wire connection then start the car...there should be a beep every second or so and the beeps should rise with the rpms to ensure a good connection. after it did not beep i set all the dip switches to off and decided to ask instead of screw around with it.

If you are using the cruise control button option you should be able to get a beep by pressing and holding either of the cruise control buttons on the steering wheel.

i tried the test mode right off the bat, nothing so i checked the connections i.e. tugging on the wires to see if they came loose, seemed to be very snug. i didnt use the t taps however, i used the similar blue ones. i rechecked the dip switches and started the car again in test mode. nothing again...
