Motor Oil question!
What is the best Oil for the S2k with 17,000 miles? I wanna know brands and everything. Should i go with the oil that the commercial has with all the oil horses chasing the STI? should i go with the new Greddy oil for vtec engines?
There are two topics that I avoid discussing on the internet - religion and oil. The sticky posted above is a great reference. The bottom line is to change your oil regularly with a quality product and you'll be fine. There are no magical oil formulations or additives.

Up to a point
Manual states not to use additives (not needed).
Engine oil of a good quality is all you need.
Recently posted Used Oil Analysis showed that additives work though.
Do not forget, as time goes by, new developments in engine oil get available for the public.
That might make you change your mind about what oil to use.
Or stop using what the Bible tells you to (read manual where I typed Bible)
Its not magic, its called progress

Instead of asking us for all of our opinions on this (and trust me, they're all different), why don't you do your own research. Then come back with maybe a "top 3" that you picked yourself. I can't give you any reasonable input whatsoever based on your question. Not to mention that oil has been covered, there's even a sticky at the top of the forums called "The OIL JOURNALS!". Read that first.
