Default motor problems?

hi,
i just came back from Mzm here in austin and they ran a compression and leak down test. From what they told me, compression was good but the leak down test was pretty bad. they said 60%-70% in my cylinders. I just had honda rebuild the motor back to stock when i had my CAI( i hydrolocked it) and then put on URacing turbo. i only have like 5k miles on the new rebuilt motor, what could cause it to be like that? Well anyways, mzm suggested that i rebuild the motor with stronger pistons and all the extras. What should i do?

Did you just slap the UR turbo on and go driving with their maps or did you have them fine-tuned to check the A/F ratios?

You're the 2nd UR kit owner I know of to blow his motor on UR's maps. They really need to be fine-tuned to each car for this very reason.

here are the test results..
1/ 210psi @35-40%
2/ 205psi @ 65-70%
3/ 220psi @ 65%-
4/ 230psi @ 25-30% all in the crankcase

i stopped by the shop yesterday to talk about new pistons, rods, bearings just the works. mohammed came up with some parts and i approved of it.. now its going to be a loooooooong process. i dont want to achieve the MAX hp that i can get, just enough.. whatever that might be.

uhmmm, this maybe just my own personal opinion. But I would not let any shop build this motor unless it's done by AEBS. They have done some of the best s2000 motors. They can build you a full race head. Port/polish, valve springs + retainer. Balance and blue print. And a bullet proof block. Sleeves, rods, pistons, head studs and etc. If you take a chance on the motor. So many more bad things can happend when after $5000 is dumped. I'm sure you are not going do to low boost no more. At high boost, a motor that is not build right, it could below easy as like stock.

You can "bulletproof" the engine all you want, but its not going to matter a damn if you don't address your fuel/timing issues. I strongly suggest you spend the time and money for a programmable ECU.

I definetly agree with Jerry when you get the motor done you must get your car tuned or you`ll end up ruining your new engine, even if it`s "Bulletproof". Just look at all the stuff we went through with Suzukas2k`s car.
