Default Mounting gauge in dash stereo control location

I've been looking for a while but can't seem to find a diy to remove the dash control button for the stereo to fit a gauge in there instead.

Can anyone help me out? I've seen a few photos but nothing too helpful to get it in there.

You need to pull the cluster 'shroud' out (Unscrew the 2 top center screws on the cluster visor and pull it out) and there are 3 screws holding the module that contains the audio controls. Disconnect the module connector, remove the screws and the module itself (Comes out from the back, not front) and cut a hole to fit your gauge in. I recommend using a Dremel or similar tool.

Note that you wont be able to remove the entire shroud unit because of the steering wheel. But for this job, you dont need to if you use a short phillips screw driver to remove the module screws.

I'm in a similar project too.

On a guage placement thread, there's a lot of question where the audio buttons will wokr.

I undid a spare audio cluster and behind the buttons there's only 1 circuit board.

If I install the gauge without the board OBVIOUSLY the other volume, mute anc CH buttons WON"T work.

I need to study in detail if trhe bord can be cut and jump wired where's the audio mode button is.

Bezel! Thats what I meant when said shroud . Thanks guys.

Just wanted to share an opinion. If you want to add a gauge were the stock audio controls are, dont even consider having both. Its one or the other. Also remember its a sports car, no need for extra luxury

They are for the cruise control since I install a Momo sterring wheel and quick release hub. The bottom button is SET and the top is RESUME.

Yeah I know, Cruise Control is a luxury item, but it doesnt interfere w/ my setup.
