Not comprehensive answer, but: SRS sensors are not eliminated. Catalytic O2 sensor does not require catalytic convertor; whether this means it is ignored or monitored differently, I am not sure, but the car sure runs better with a test pipe and Mugen ecu.

The key immobilizer function might not work.

Yes, since they don't use the immobilizer in Japan. It is not a function of the ECUs that Mugen uses/reprograms. So if you bought an aftermarket ECU such as Mugen or Spoon you no longer have the immobilizer capabilities of your US market vehicle.

The OBDII Emmision controls That I know about are, Catalyst monitoring (secondaryO2), Evaporative emmisions, (fuel tank vapor recovery) Pulsed secondary air injection, (air pump). I also remember reading somewhere, Hondata website? that the Mugen PCM is not as "Picky" When looking for trouble codes.

Hmmm...OK, thanks. Assume earlier posts are accurate and with the Mugen ECU there's no CEL? This may be interesting, as with my other Mugen parts, I've not seen significant gains, perhaps the header is not the problem but is backed up by a restrictive catalytic converter? This is a whole lot easier experiment than switching headers! Where did you get your 'test pipe' or did you just fabricate it yourself? Thanks again, great topic. Col. K

also Prolene's car is about 2550lbs!!! and it really breathes great in the top end.... and is really fast! u should definitely try removing cat, u will discard a fair amount of weight as well...cat is heavy.

i have a comptech test pipe, i don't know what prolene has.
comptech is 3(?) series stainless(shiny stuff) with 2 bung holes (i love that) so u can run an auxilliary lambda sensor. u will get check engine light but no power loss mode from ecu. there are or will be simulators for 2nd O2 sensor to defeat CEL, but it still should work by flashing if u throw a serious code...i think
