Multiple Questions
OK... after one month of S2000 ownership (MY02), I have some quetsions for you guys. I have doen alot of searches, but need some clarification:
1) My only major issue with the car is the clutch engagment. My clutch does not start to engage until the pedal is about 3/4 of the way up. I have read all about "free play" and the adjustment under the pedal, but I dont know how it applies to me. I am aware that the clutch could simply be worn, but the car only has 14k miles on it and was daily driven by a woman who just puttered around town. It doesnt slip once it is engaged, but the pedal travel between starting engagement and fully locked is only the top inch or two of the pedal travel. Is this just the way S2000 clutches feel or do I have a problem?
2) When I turn the car off, it feels like it is "dieseling." The car shakes for a moment before it shuts off. I am running 93 octane, so I dont think it is a fuel issue. Im guessing it just has to do with balancing a motor that runs 9k RPMs... am I right, is this normal??
3) The dash lights on the left side of the steering wheel (radio controls) are dimmer than the rest if the dash lights???
4) the chick that owned it before me couldnt get the key into the key hole or her seat belt into the latch without scratching the crap out of things
... but thats not yalls problem.
Thats all I have right now. Basically I just need reassurance that everything is ok since I am new to the S2000 world. I am going to give her an oil/rear diff fluid change tonight (Castrol Syntec 10w30 in the motor w/ Honda filter and Mobil 1 Synth Gear Lube 75w90). I love driving the car... its hard to stay out of VTEC, and nothing beats the twistys mountain roads around here with the top down.
Thanks for the input
