I just came back from vaca and the car is due for renew registration. Battery is dead so I jump it and drive to check SMOG. My car got REJECTED. The guy said I have to drive it for a while for the ECU to have more data.

What is an 06 S2000 Drive Cycle? How many miles or how long? I drive to work about 25 min & 15 miles. How many days I have to drive to complete drive cycle and got the car ready for SMOG?

 

I believe its 30 miles, at least that's what it was for my 01 prelude and my 99 si

 

I've been successful running ten cold to hot cycles and sixty miles.

 

think it's 50 miles on the earlier cars

 

Drive it for a few day in different driving conditions such as highway, street and a little bit of stop and go if u can but not necessary. Also how many times u turn on and off the car is included in the drive cycle but that will be taken care of during the few days u are driving and parking the car. This is so that all the monitors can run and ur adaptive learning can relearn its paramerets.

 

Coworker just had the same problem. He brought his car to the dealership to ask, they realized his battery was just about dead. They put a new one in, told him to drive it for about 200 miles. He passed his emissions.

 

Most obd2 testers will tell you the status of your readiness codes.

 

My 06 resets in 25 to 30 miles.

 

The CEL will also indicate the status of the ready codes. Turn ON the ignition to position II (don't start) and watch the light. If the codes are set it will go out in 10 or so secs. If the codes need to be reset the CEL will flash before going out.
