the thing is, if you have to ask, just do it.

do it for the peace of mind, i flushed the clutch with my gf last night, the clutch is so much softer than before, the brake fluid was black, not darkbut black with alot of tiny black pieces/praticle.

you could spot old fluid when it's really old.

but the other enemy of brake/clutch juice is water, if some guys(previous owner/garage handyman) left the cap overnight, the fluid is filled with water, which makes it useless.

again, unless you know it's clean, i would change it.

I'm not conserned about it being old.

I am conserned I payed for the 3rd bottle of expensive fluid AND for the labour.

Maybe I should do a strip test and see the moisture content to know for sure.

I'm starting to think it's new and just wasn't flushed properley. Who knows maybe they did that to skip the 3rd bottle I paid for.

Water under the bridge now. I've gone from pissed off to not caring anymore.

Thanks for the replies.

My clutch fluid is black too. I'm going to change it in the coming week In the meantime, has anybody who has replaced nasty black clutch fluid in the past noticed a significant difference?

Look's it was changed to me. Whether or not they used the more expensive Motul fluid or not remains a mystery

Yes... it was night and day when I did it last year.

It felt smoother and the engagement point was a little higher on the pedal travel.

I initially thought my clutch was slipping before I changed it.
