OK so my diff just blow up and i need to get my car back on the road. What are my options? I'm having a hard time sourcing a used stock diff. What are my after market options? Whats my cheepest way out of this?

 

i don't have any specific links but here's what i recall from memory:

puddymod diff- +1k
comptech
300zx diff

so cheapest by far is a used oem. they go for $500-600 or so.

 

OEM AP1 is the cheapest route.

 

call puddy mod and see what he can do for you.

thanks i just picked up a used diff for $500

on a side note i never new the s2k diff were so week
i never launch the car and it just blow when i did a 1st to 2nd gear shift at redline

 

Glad you got a replacement diff. That's the cheapest option. However Puddy's deals are pretty unbeatable and range from a rebuilt stocker to a bulletproof modded dif.

Comptech/300ZX are not really options in the same ball park.

As far as I know Comptech offer reinforcement caps for a stock diff. You still have to supply the diff.

The 300ZX option is a major engineering exercise and major expense. A magnitude of ten in cost.

 

Got any links/pics/ Contact details wit the comptech or puddy mod diff? Whats the main difference? and also, i didnt know that the 300zx share the same diff as ours.
