Default my S is SLOW

I just got back from a recent trip from canada. The next day my car was fine, the day after...

I floor it, yes the rpm's go up but its not moving fast (like normal). I'm not sure what it could be. I checked my plugs, fluids and leakage, tires. I can't figure out whats wrong. I have an 02 with 27k miles. All maintenance is up to date. I am planning to call my dealership tom to drop it off. I also have a stupid leak in my roof so I need that fixed as well.

For anyone wondering how i know its slow, 2 reasons. First, theres a sign by my house that if i floor it off the light, i get to 80-82 at the sign. I am barely hitting 65 at that same sign. Also, I did a couple runs with my friends 03 accord v6. I got spanked 3 times. Since owning the S, he has never beat me so i know its not my shifting.

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Let's see, the revs increase but the car doesn't accelerate. Hmmmm.

Sounds pretty obvious to me that it's your clutch. How do you drive? Do you ride the clutch?

I don't ride the clutch at all. I just bought this S about 3 months ago. It had 22k miles on it then. I am pretty good with shifting. I've been driving stick ever since I got my license (just about 5 yrs). Maybe it was the previous owner?

just to clarify, the car does accelerate when gas is pressed but its slower than normal

So are you saying the engine is doing the same revs (or higher) when you pass the sign but the car is slower?

With a properly working clutch the ratio between the engine and wheels in a given gear is set so it can only really be the clutch.

Of course if the car is slower and so are the revs then it's a performance issue. You've vchecked all the fluids and plugs and I assume they are ok. What about the air filter?

Use more gas. If you push the accelerator further down you sould go faster.

Well the rpm's are going up slower. This is with my foot mashed to the floor. Normally when i pass the sign, i am in 3rd VTEC. With this slow crap, i am still in 2nd.

I've checked all fluids, plugs, my air filter is less than 3k miles old. Maybe some crap got stuck in it? i didn't open it but i will tom

Hmmm, ok, so forget the clutch thing.

Perhaps you are not going into VTEC. This is usually a result of low oil pressure but if you've checked the oil then I'd check the VTEC solenoid connector on the side of the engine. It may be loose.

Does it run as smooth as normal?

Smack the MAP sensor around a little bit, and re-seat it's electrical connection.
