Have you changed your oil recently?

That has absolutely nothing to do with the light

Now, what you do is....

Go out to your car. Get in the passenger seat, put the key in the ignition and turn it to on. Roll down the passenger window halfway. Get out of the car, jack up the left rear until the tire is off the ground. Pop and raise the hood, then the trunk. Leave them both open. Get back in the car. Push and hold the "trip" button. Turn key to "on". Continue holding the button until the light goes off (It takes probably 10 seconds before it shuts off). Crank up car and light should be gone. Take the car off the jack, close the hood and trunk, and roll your window up, or you can just drop the top and go for a drive. Congratulations, you just reset your maint req'd light.

you dont have to jack the car up or open the hood or trunk....... just leave the key in the off position then push both buttons on the right side of the dash, hold both of them and then turn the car to the on position while holding both of the buttons still then wait a few seconds and the light will turn off

I imagine he was joking...you know like how people tell you to change the headlight fluid.

Yeah, but if you're too lazy to read the FAQ before posting a question, then you deserve to have your chain jerked around a bit. The best part is that if he would've actually gone through all that, he would've found that it actually worked, and might've believed that all that was actually required to reset the light.
