Default MY02 oil bolt VIN range?

Sorry if this is a FAQ but I searched and couldn't find any info..

Is there a range of VINs or some other way I can tell if my MY02 car either has or doesn't have the updated oil bolts?

Thanks!

I have contacted Honda of America asking if they could give me a ballpark VIN in which they switched over to the new oil bolts, and after talking with various engineers and public relations people, it boiled down to this: I was the person telling them that the oil bolts had been changed mid-way through MY02...no person had the slightest idea what I was talking about. They had absolutely no information regarding the switchover at all. Only way to get even a ballpark idea if your car has it done is to check the engine number... supposedly, numbers 5300 and up are upgraded.

I dont think it is necessarily the VIN, but rather the engine code itself. Look on the engine code, if you do not know where it is you can search on here but if you are looking at the motor standing in front of the bumper, it will be on the right side, closest to the front and marked "f20c1" with a bunch of numbers, if the last four of those numbers are greater than "5385" you have the new ones. There have been some who had the new ones with less of a number than that from the factory, but if you have a number greater than 5385 youll have the new ones.

Andy, do some research about it on here and youll find out its not a MUST. There have been lots of threads covering this and its not the worst thing in the world if you have the old bolts.
