Mysterious sound from engine
Car makes a squeaking sound under deceleration, similar to the clucking noise nearly all Krank Vent users have but higher pitched, so I know it's RPM-related. Whenever I push the clutch in the sound disappears, but usually comes back when I let the clutch out again. From what I've seen so far it happens most apparently after highway cruises or when I pull the car to redline.
Every so often I even hear it during idle, rate of the sound is about the same as the clucking from the KVs, so that confirms my guess it's RPM-related. Pushing the clutch in also eliminates the sound under idle.
Now HERE'S the kicker. In one of those rare cases when it did happen during idle, I pulled out the dipstick and the sound disappeared! That right there leads me closer to the Krank Vents as the culprit. I have had the KVs for a little over a year now and the sound just recently started popping up, so they must've done something to one of the seals over time.
I know the clucking sound is coming from the spark plug seals rubbing against the tubes, but where exactly could this sound be coming from?

Check for the noise down by the crank pulley. The seal around the crank and the timing chain cover started squealing on mine. If you look how the valve cover seals, the whole front of the engine is under vacuum too.
I wouldn't call it easy, but it's not horrible. It does involve pulling the crank pulley, which is a bitch. The way I fixed my squeal was to just remove the crankvent going to the intake. I'm just blocking boost anyways. I would verify the problem first though. I'd hate for you to go through all that trouble and it not get fixed. Good luck.
