The Mystery Code
So...27,000 on my 2007 and a code 126 is reported on the OIL % display. I searched this forum for the answer to the 3 digit code with no avail. The only one I was able to find was a thread some time ago that stated that the code 126 was related to the radiator (PO126).
So... I opened up my radiator, all full of coolant as well as the reservoir. I gave up and decided to take it to the stealership. The guy tells me that code 126 is related to the A/C filter, Engine filter, and or differential fluid. I was like waaaaa?
I told him I had changed the engine filter about 2 months ago, the a/c filter about 4 and the differential about 3 months back. So we both looked at each other .
He just reset the code and off I went. WTF?? was that?? any one of you guys / gals had this same problem? Was the code reporting something legitimate?
Thanks for your help.

If I search for "P0126" on this forum I only get this result:
P0126 Insufficient Coolant Temperature for Stable Operation
If that's the code that you received then I would guess a thermostat issue? Maybe the T-stat is stuck open.
The differential on this car doesn't have a sensor for temperature or fluid level. So, it would be highly unlikely that the car would throw a code for anything related to the differential, I would rule that out as a possible issue.
Personally, I would find a different tech. Any tech that just shrugs, resets the CEL, and sends you on your way shouldn't be working on the vehicle. So much for trying to diagnose the problem and resolve it.

Hey 90, thx for your reply. I searched and received the same information.
The code that i am talking about I did not have to pull with a cel machine, it was just being displayed in the oil % screen. Right now my screen states: 126 20%.
Any thoughts? BTW, I contacted the service advisor once again, and asked him if he was sure that the code being displayed belonged to a/c, engine, diff? and he stated once again, yes.
Im without words.

it's just a maintenance thing, no worries. i guess newer ones have the whole darn schedule in there and not just the oil. there's nothing wrong with the car; it goes by mileage.
if ur maintained and up to date, reset it and let it ride

Thank you teanza for your reply as well. I was freeking out just thinking I was driving and I was having problems with my Thermostat or radiator. I was allready looking into a Mishimoto radiator and also purchasing a new Tstat!
I contacted the service advisor one more time, and he started laughing because of course Im going crazy over the phone about the PO126 code and he told me exactly what you just said.
Ok so.... Myster solved.
Love this forum, thank you both 90 and Teanza for your responses.

You car has a maintenance minder system, 1, 2, 6, are sub codes after the A or B for service.
1. check tires inflation/condition
2. replace air filter and AC filter check drive belt
6. replace differential oil
