Default NEED ANSWERS FAST!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ok, so i just get a call from the guy who i was told was a great mechanic (hahaha) and he started telling me that he figured out that my car is deffinitely misfiring on cyl #3 bc the injector isnt pulsing. he said that i need a new wire harness bc its cut up too much from all its previous modifications.... which i can possibly see as a good thing to do. but then he tells me that he believes that the reluctor ring is probably bad and is what is causing the injector to misfire. he thinks its been. now personally i didnt know what a reluctor ring is or where it would be. i searched and didnt see any reluctor ring for the car. can someone give me any idea or insight before i go back there and pick my stuff up from him?

O and btw... he said he doesnt know why i was wasting my time building a 4 cyl s2000 bc a 6cyl camry or an old 2.4 (ROFL) prelude from 1994 would be quicker than i could ever make an s2000. lol which is the other reason im bout to go get my shit. this guy pissed me off and i am really starting to not trust him. and my s2k is fully built internally AND with a turbo kit... but im slow...

Valve spring retainer-sorry
It impacts the valves, so it would impact misfires.
Search this forum for AP1 retainer and you will find a ton of info

1st off. Tow your car elsewhere. You can test the misfire theory by swapping injectors. Did your car have different injectors at some point? AP1's do have retainer issues.

it has new coil packs on it, BC dual core valve springs and retainers, swirl polished valves, and .5 over bore engine with steel sleeves and cp pistons, acl bearings, BC cams.... alot of mods. nothing in the engine is old. its all name brand. ive already tried swapping out the injectors with new injectors and that wasnt the issue. the whole fuel system is new from pump to pressure reg. to injectors.... but there is a prob in electrical im sure bc my batt. dies real fast often even after charging and my dash occasionally flickers off and goes dark. i thought something was grounding out somewhere

He said reluctor ring, not retainer ring. The reluctor is a toothed wheel that when combined with a
cam or crank position sensor (or wheel speed sensor) sends a signal to the ecm for the speed of the cam, crank or wheel speed sensor. Not sure where people got valve retainer out of that.
