Default Need brake help!

I changed both front and driver rear brake pads with no problems. But on the passenger rear I could not turn the piston back in. So in a moment of stupidity I decided to pump the brake to free the piston. BAD move. The piston popped out of the caliper. How do I get it back in. Or am I buying a whole new caliper?
Thanks
Kurt

OK, I pulled off the piston dust boot and here is what I have. I guess that is why I could not budge the piston. Can this be cleaned up or do I need a new caliper?

I can get a new refurbished one for $145 shipped. I can't imagine I will save much having someone clean mine up.

$50 over $145? Next time you have trouble winding/pushing the piston back, crack the bleeder open, this will make it a bit easier.

If I can get it cleaned/rebuilt for $50 than it is worth while. I did have the bleeder open - it still would not budge.

Buy a rebuild kit from Honda, replace all the seals, clean the piston and caliper and you're good to go. No reason to buy a remanuf caliper. The piston simply screws back in.

Buy a new one. I went centric from Rock Auto for $70 and they are 90% OEM

And it does not simply screw back in, rebuilding rears are a PITA

Yes it does screw back in. Notice the threads? that is what the piston threads down into. You push and screw the piston in clockwise.

Rebuilding a caliper is one of the easiest things you can do.

Here' a DIY to follow http://www.diyautoftw.com/showthread...0-By-SpitfireS

I have rebuilt calipers, rebuilding it does not involve simply screwing it back in, as evident by the DIY you posted. The OPs caliper was hung up because it needs rebuilt, evident by the corrosion all around where the piston seal should seal. Rebuilding the rears is a PITA. When rebuild kits are $25 and rebuilt are $70 it is an easy choice for me.
