Default Need help with A/C problems

Hi.
Since last night when I turn on my A/C, it sounds like A/C compessor is keep turning on and off every 10 sec.
It is very annoying because at low-rpm car jerks really badly because A/C compressor is keep turning on and off.(I think it is compressor but not 100% sure but I hear something turns on and off in engine room)
It's hard to notice at higher rpm but under 3k rpm it makes the engine keep jerking.

This symptom gets worse more I drive with A/C on because it seems like compressor is not willing to turn and engine jerks even more.
It feels like I completely looses engine power when compressor turns on.
When it gets worse, I also hear short high pitch noise which sounds like belt slipping or metal rubbing.

but my A/C still blows cold air. There is no Honda dealer in this nation so I cant get this fixed under warrenty. I'm going to this bodyshop today who *kinda* knows Honda. Before I go I would like to gather some info what is causing this problem

Any feedbacks are appreciated.
TIA!

Has the system been recently serviced/charged? Overcharging the AC system with too much refrigerant can cause the compressor to cylcle frequently, as the pressure is too high. Does the engine have a normal idle speed otherwise?

The system has never been serviced.

When A/C is on, engine idles about 100rpm more than when A/C is off(which is normal right?) but after driving about 20min...When compressor turns on, engine rpm drops alot, causing very rough idle.

Could be a flakey IAC motor, not compensating for the additional load of the AC. At what rpm does the engine idle at?

1000rpm when A/C is on
800-900rpm when A/C is off

That's a normal idle speed. There are many possiblities that can cause your problem. First you need to verify the noise is coming from the AC Compressor.

slows2k. THANK YOU SO MUCH !! You were right about the problem!!

I went to that shop today and it was overcharged gas. So he released some gas and now my A/C works perfectly.

S2ki rocks!!!
