Need help purchasing correct tool
Basically what I need, and I would appreciate recommendations, is a power drill that attaches to the long tube extension that bends which I will attach the 6mm Allen head to. I do not know what either of these tools are called, so if someone could help recommend both and identify what i am talking about, it would be greatly appreciated.
are you talking about to remove the drive shaft bolts? All you need is a 6mm allen head socket with a swivel extention or just a 6mm allen key with a long socket over it with a extension attached to the socket for some leverage
If the OP wants a "power tool" maybe he's referring to an impact wrench? Personally I have an electric one which I like for it's portability (no air tank required), more torque than a cordless, and generally they're cheaper (than cordless). When I used mine to remove the allen head bolts I think I just needed an extension as it was a bit tight right up against the drive shaft.
Thanks guys, impact wrench was the correct term I was looking for. So I need to buy an impact wrench and a 6mm allen head socket. Can anyone recommend a cheap but reliable brand? There's one at home depot that's $99 and then one for $179, I guess it doesnt matter much if its battery or cord operated, but I don't want an air compressor one since I lack an air compressor. Is there much of a difference buying the one that's $100? I'm sure i may use it more down the road, but all I really need is one to help take off the drive shaft bolts, and money is a little tight right now.
Then buy the cheap one. If it breaks, then take that ish back and tell them you are pissed and demand your money back. Heck, you could probably use it and package it back up all nice and neat and return it after use to get your money back.
My sister once bought a nice Cannon camera just to take it on her honeymoon, then returned it the day they got back, lol.

I recommend that you loosen the differential from the mounts sufficiently to allow the nose of the assembly to drop. That drop will create a V in the line with the propeller shaft and allow you to have a straight shot (direct access) to the head hex head cap screw.
It's also likely that since your companion flange bolts are 6mm from the AP1 series, that you will want to have a cutting wheel handy. These heads frequently strip out and need to be cut off.

No need for an impact gun, just use hand tools. Get a good socket and make sure it seats all the way to the bottom of the allen head; then give it a solid turn using hand tools.
What I did was buy an allen socket from Autozone which was built for brake applications (made by Lisle). I cut down the end of the bit just enough to fully seat in the allen head. This also gave me the clearance to put a ratchet on there without use of any extensions.

Now that is really a great idea. Lie, cheat, and take advantage of the merchant's return policy. You and your sister should really be proud of yourselves. Admirable ethics.
