Default Need help removing shifter.

So my shifter has been feeling weird lately and sometimes stays stuck in the reverse position. I've read on a forum that i needed to regrease my shifter but in order to that, i have to take the shifter out. I've removed the 3 bolts that holds the shifter in place and I have been trying to pull it out but no luck. feels like its stuck in there pretty good. i thought it might have to do something with it bein too hot so i let it sit over night and tried it again in the morning but it still won't bugde. I need help or can get any advice to how to pull the shifter out. so if anyone knows a way to do so, please let me know. thanks.

There are three bolts to remove. If after removing these you can't pull it out you most likely got some moisture in there....which is why your shifting is getting sticky. Remove the three bolts. Put the car in neutral and spin the knob back on so you can get a better grip. Center yourself over the shifter and rank it straight up. There is nothing mechanical holding you in, just hardened gunk between the pivot ball and shift link. Once you get it out clean the crap out of it and then regrease....

I've put the shift knob on and pulled it that way but it's still hard. I've even stood in the center of the car so I can get a better grip but it's not budging. I'm running out of ideas.

Really strange.. Try a pry bar see if that works. There's really only 3 screws holding so once you have those out just pull. There's even a spring on the bottom that sort of lifts it up once you have the screws out.

Once you take the 3 bolts out it "will" just slide out just like the DIY says.
...i would fold the roof down so you can stand up on the center console and then with the shift knob screwed back in for better grip try to pull it up.

Are you 100% sure you took out the correct screws? They are underneath that annoying black rubber flap? I know, you probably got it right, but there are other screw heads visible down in that cavity... just making sure you took out the three that are under that black rubber cover.

Really strange that it is so stuck on there... it must be completely rusted up in there.
