Need more help on the ECU
I have an 02 testpipe Cel.
I have 3 nonfoulers currently in there. It's maxed out.
My question.
If the ECU was properly reset, shouldnt the Cel light go off for at least a minute or so when starting the car back up?
Here's what I'm doing to reset the ECU. Can someone clarify if this is correct? First I put the key in the ignition and turn the car on without starting the engine. Then I pull the key back 1 click in the off position but not in the position to take the key out. Next I am pulling the backup 7.5 fuse ... Yes the correct one... Second row, 3rd fuse down.. Leaving the fuse out for 1 minute and pushing it back in. Then firing up the car. The Cel never even for a minute goes away. It's on 100% of the time from the moment the car starts up.
Is this right? I would think that if the ECU was resetting that it would go off until it detected and 02 problem again.
Any help? This is driving me mad.

Please keep us posted if the above works, it may be that you did not wait long enough.
So I pulled it for 15 minutes this time... Then took a 10 minute drive to test the results...
NO LUCK
The Cel never even blinked off from the time the key was in the on position, to starting up the engine.. and to driving around.
I did see a shooting star on my drive though and wished for the Cel to go away
One more question...
In order to reset the ECU. Does the key have to be in the position where the gauge lights up? I have been putting it in the position and then clicking it back one so that goes off but its still one position away from pulling the key out....
I just feel like its not resetting.
Battery time?

You don't need to put the key in the ignition at all. I don't know why you are going thru the rigamarole of turning the car on and then back off, it does nothing.
Just pull the fuse. When I do it I leave the fuse out for quite a while. Usually for at least the length of an autocross. '

I've never had it fail to reset. I don't know what the magic time period is, but I believe the car has to be run after the fuse is out for it to reset cause other wise it's just sitting there in a resting state and nothing is happening electricity or programming wise until the car runs.

The only reason I did the whole key thing was because I came across it in multiple searches on here.
I'll try it without the key.. Then running the car without the fuse in it. Makes sense.
I'll go give it a shot soon.
