Need to replace clutch, aftermarket or oem?
So I need to replace my clutch and very soon. But since I know its gonna cost me a pretty penny to have my car ripped apart anyway, I figure its a good time to go aftermarket.
My car is a daily driver and I want to retain the stock clutch feel as much as possible. I also dont want a clutch that will buzz, click or chirp enough to make me voluntarily veer into a ditch. Ive read alot about people 'mix and matching' components from different manufacturers but I have no idea were to start so I need some help. And if you think I should just stick with oem feel free let me know.

just stay OEM.. last longer.. well at least you know what you will be getting.. get a different combo and hate it will mean you can keep it till its time of a new one or pay more and buy a new oem kit and replace it..

well isn't that the point of his asking for feedback...
i don't know i'm still on stock clutch setup.
i understand that lightweight flywheel makes it easier to rev up, but wouldn't a heavier heavy-duty PP negate those effects?
is it better to go oem PP and lightweight flywheel? thoughts, input?

even if you say it softer or just slightly stiffer.. when you experience it yourself maybe be a hit or miss.. so if you like what you have.. keep it.. if you dont and will to take a chance get a different combo others maybe like on here
but if it is a DD why get anything other than oem.. unless you willing to take a stiffer pedal for those once in a while hard driving.. get a heavy pressure plate and get oem disk
heavy duty pressure plate is not necessarily heavier than the stock. It provides more clamping force, not more mass
I would go with ACT HD PP (I don't know if this is in fact heavier than OEM, but thats just not what HD stands for), stock friction disc, new TO bearing. Flywheel is up to you.

do something simply like the Hardtopguy clutch kit, or toda flywheel with spoon PP. etc

After putting aftermarket clutches in multiple cars, including all of mine except the S2000, I always wonder why I do it.. I'm about to yank the ACT setup out of my integra for a OEM setup, at least for the disc. If you don't need the extra clamping force, etc, OEM isn't going to be a bad idea, or even if you do want a different pressure plate, I'd go stock disc unless you need more.
The only time I plan on installing aftermarket disc in the future is for my rally project, and it'll be an unsprung 4 puck..

IIRC the ACT PP is an OEM PP with a stronger spring and yellow paint.
I don't think ACT swaps or replaces anything else.

That's probably because the installer greased everything up properly

i had my clutch replaced with an OEM pressure plate and a comptech flywheel about 6k miles ago, and it's working out just fine, the clutch pedal feels a lot softer now though, like a base model RSX clutch pedal i'd say.
Throwout on its guide for example.
